An absurdist take on the daily existential crisis would be a one phrase summary of this play. The play opens with Muduka (the old man) and Pramila (his wife), who are awaiting guests for the grand ceremony of the evening. The grand ceremony is where Muduka plans to reveal the message (sandesha) that he has been working on, in his lifetime. A lot of guests have been called. Who are these guests? Will they come? What do they bring with them? What is the message of the Muduka? Who is going to tell it to the world? These are some of the tangents this play explores in a cyclical, satirical fashion.
