Synopsis

A journalist arrives late in the day at an isolated house to interview a businessman who has won a national award. Though he has been asked by someone in the house to come there, the businessman insists that no one invited him. He finds that the man (referred to as Father) is an egotist and control freak, and keeps his employees and family under his thumb. Speaking to the family members, the journalist realises that each of them is under some obligation to Father, and consequently an emotional prisoner in the house. Each of them resents his control and would love to remove his yoke from their shoulders. At dinner, Father suddenly collapses and dies. The journalist is told that if the man’s good name is to continue in the world, his physical presence should be eliminated. He himself has been called there to be a witness. The play has been published by Adisakrit as part of an anthology titled 'Midnight Hotel and Other Plays', available on Amazon.
